Current CSSHL student-athlete Hunter Saddleback and former student-athletes Easton Mattersdorfer and Ben Meyer have signed WHL Scholarship and Development Agreements with their respective teams.
A defenseman from St. Albert, AB, Saddleback was a strong presense along SAHA’s blueline. Saddleback tallied 10 points across 24 games with SAHA including an extra 2 points at the inaugural East West Challenge. Saddleback would provide the GWG in the semi-finals against OHA Penticton before defeating BWC Academy for the title later that afternoon. Saddleback was drafted 67th overall by Medicine Hat at the 2025 WHL Prospects Draft prior to signing his contract with the Tigers.
Meyer spent the 2024-25 season with the Notre Dame Hounds U15 Prep squad where he played in 25 contests. Meyer faced 1013 shots across that timeframe, the second most in the division behind Calgary Hitmen prospect, Donagh Esler-Twiss (1264). Meyer made five 50 save and two 60 save performances with the Hounds. Meyer’s hard work paid off on draft day, being selected 78th overall by the Medicine Hat Tigers at the 2025 WHL Prospects Draft.
Reigning out of Lethbridge, AB, Mattersdorfer was a relied upon source of offense for NAX’s U15 squad in the 2024-25 season. Mattersdorfer would collect 45 points (21G, 24A) with the Xtreme ranking him third in team scoring behind Emmett Abel and Jett Evans. Mattersdorfer was selected 43rd overall by the Hitmen at this past WHL Prospects Draft.
