ICYMI: 5 Sign in WHL

Four current and one former CSSHL student-athlete have signed WHL Scholarship and Development Agreements with their respective WHL teams.

Calgary International Hockey Academy student-athlete Kai Dingwall has signed with the Regina Pats after they selected him in the second round, 35th overall at the 2026 WHL Draft. This season the Calgary, AB forward was named a CSSHL U15 Prep (Prairie Division) Second Team All-Star, having recorded 46 points in 28 U15 Prep games, before adding 7 points in 5 playoff games as he captained CIHA to a CSSHL U15 Prep Western Championship. During the 2024/25 U15 Prep season Dingwall tallied 26 points in 35 games with Pilot Mound Hockey Academy.

A forward from Calgary, AB, Jett Evans has signed with the Seattle Thunderbirds after being drafted in the second round, 34th overall at the 2026 WHL Draft. Evans tallied 48 points in 29 games with the Northern Alberta Xtreme U15 Prep team to earn CSSHL U15 Prep (Prairie Division) First Team All-Star honours. During the 2024/25 season he would finish second among all CSSHL U15 skaters with 72 points in 31 games.

Selected eighth overall at the 2026 WHL Draft, Micah Montgomery has signed with the Kamloops Blazers. The Edmonton, AB forward joined OHA Edmonton as an underage player for the 2023/24 U15 season, posting 24 points in 22 games. The following U15 Prep season Montgomery totaled 49 points in 36 games as he was named a CSSHL U15 Prep (Prairie Division) Second Team All-Star and to the CSSHL U15 Prep (Prairie Division) All Rookie Team. This past season Montgomery would be named a CSSHL U15 Prep (Prairie Division) First Team All-Star and the CSSHL U15 Prep Top Defensive Forward after he tallied 63 points in 30 games.

North Shore Warriors forward William Thompson has signed with the Prince George Cougars after he was taken in the second round, 41st overall at the 2026 WHL Draft. The North Vancouver, BC forward posted 25 points in 22 U15 Prep games in 2024/25 before recording 50 points in 30 games in 2025/26 as he was named a CSSHL U15 Prep (BC/US Division) Second Team All-Star.

Former RHA Winnipeg student-athlete Graham Jones has signed with the Penticton Vees, after a recent trade to the team. Jones was originally selected in the first round, 18th overall by the Portland Winterhawks at the 2022 WHL Draft after he recorded 81 points in 30 U15 Prep games.
